Our guest this week was Lorna Knight, executive director of Prairie Fusion Arts and Entertainment, pictured here with Dave Roberts, fellow Rotarian and chair of the PFAE board of directors. Lorna shared with us just a small smattering of the many exciting events happening at the center; yoga in the gallery, Taylor Swift dance party, speed painting face offs to name but a few. They are constantly looking to bring a wide variety of shows and events to Portage that will appeal to a wide demographic of folks while at the same time keeping costs low. She shared about the (not so glamorous, yet very important) project they are undertaking to renovate the washroom facilities at the center to be more accommodating and accessible to all. Watch for exciting roll-outs of successful programs they had in the past, a membership program and season passes and of course the continuation of long-standing excellent art, dance and musical theater programs throughout the year. She reminded us that the Art Gallery is FREE to the public; exhibitors both local and international have been booked well into 2026 and the Gift Shop is full of beautiful wares made by local artisans. Prairie Fusion Arts and Entertainment is a gem within our community, thank you for reminding us all of its importance.
