Our guest today was Travis Rintoul (pictured here with Dave Falk, fellow Rotarian and long time Canadian Foodgrains Bank volunteer) who came to tell us about Canadian Foodgrains Bank and Operation FOCUS (Feeding other countries; undo starvation) and their goal to reduce hunger and its consequences among hunger-affected individuals, households and communities in developing countries.
In 2023 they are hoping to secure 400 acres of land in Portage la Prairie, Oakville, Elie and MacGregor areas to grow canola, cereals, corn, and soybeans for production. After harvest, net proceeds will be donated to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.
Travis also shared with us his experience of travelling to India in January of 2020 where he got the opportunity to learn and see how CFB funds helps those in need. Thanks for joining us Travis.
