Our guest was Adrienne Matthews-McCulley, Administrator at Dufferin Villa; Portage’s new assisted living facility.
The beautiful building has 53 one and two bedroom suites. Monthly rent includes 2 meals a day (lunch and supper) as well as weekly housekeeping which includes changing out bed linens. All suites have in room laundry facilities and all residents receive base services from Victoria Lifeline. The secure building is also well equipped to have health care providers such as foot care, home care and massage therapists come in to provide their services. Adrienne also shared how moved she is to see all of the community building that takes place thanks to resident driven socialization and recreation programs. The facility also has a recreation director. Some of the activities currently taking place, just to name a few, are book club, bingo, non denominational church services, shuffle board, Grandpals (an inter generational time of fellowship between residents and children). The Villa is currently looking to fill three vacant suites; one 2 bedroom and two 1 bedroom suites. If you or someone you know may be interested in making this wonderful facility your new home, please reach out to Adrienne to arrange a tour.
