Our guest today was Kathy Bryce, Executive Director of the Herman Prior Activities Center. The Herman Prior center focuses on the senior population but they have expanded their scope to the entire community of all ages. It is truly a place where folks come to find friendship and fellowship which helps tremendously with alleviating boredom and loneliness, all the while maintaining an active lifestyle. There is a wide array of activities that take place at the center from pickle ball, to pool, to lunches, to card games, to exercise classes to name but a few. She shared that since the days of Covid, they have had a huge jump in membership and are now sitting at close to 700 members. Membership is open to anyone 18 years and older, however voting rights are extended to those members 55+. Membership fees are $30 dollars a year and one can join in on any activity for the low price of $1, non-members can also join in for a fee of $3. With the rising cost of living in all aspects of life, they are pleased to offer leisure activities at such an affordable price. The Center is also very busy with a wide variety of renters who use the space. In addition, they rent out medical equipment again at a very reasonable cost. The Herman Prior Activities Center is an integral and valuable part of our community and we are grateful for all the good things going on. Thank you for joining us, Kathy.
